Well country music lovers…guess what !
I have myself a banjo ! Yup!!!! I am going to learn to play it somehow….perhaps like I learned to play my guitar. By ear. No, I do not strum with my ear, but rather by listening. Hee Hee. I hope I never insult anyone who is the master of such a fine instrument. That certainly is not my intention. It is not important if I get to be a pro with it. What is important is to have fun and lift ones spirit with it.
If you should have some words for me, PLEASE, leave me a message. I welcome your words of wisdom.
May our Lord Bless you beyond measure….

Howdy all,
Well, it feels as tho summer has arrived but according to the date, it has not. It will soon tho.
Speaking of summer…..
My summer will be differant this year than it was last year. Because of the price of gas I will not be going to Larry Bisbee’s Countryfolf Music Theater as often. I will miss it very much. I had a lot of fun there and I love the people there. I will miss them.
Al tho I will not be there I recommend it for family outings. Oh please visit Larry and the gang. They will make you feel very welcomed. It is a “family” time so please refrain from abusive language and such things.
Do you have children under 18 that enjoy singing and/or playing a guitar, banjo, fiddle and such? That is the place to go. Your child can get exposure and learn to play on stage and also get into the “scholarship program.” Go into the site attached to this site and find out more. I wish there had been something like this that I knew of when I was growing up.
Well, al tho I have not been out singing on my own this spring I have been busy. I have written 2 new songs recently. One is of a love that was one sided and the other is of a traveler.
Thank you for reading this post please leave a comment. It is set up as it is for I was getting far to much spam.
Keep on singing….

My favorite season is Spring. Everything is new and alive after such a cold and dreary winter. Yes I called it dreary. With all of it’s sparkling blinding white snow I find winter dreary. I do not enjoy going out in in therefore I stay inside. I do not tolerater the cold well at all. Therefore when Spring arrives I am refreshed!!!! Today I am on my way to go get a few flowers to place in my flower bed. I f I could I would have a rotertillar in here and do up all of my property and I would have all flowers. All kinds of beautiful flowers. So I would need to weed some….saves on gas! Pretty soon I will be singing the blues more loudly about the price of gas. Right now I just humm.
Larry got the roofs finished for his opening of Countryfolk Music Theater. I am very happy for him about that. The years will be very different there with the loss of beloved Linda Latham. Accidents happen everyday but the pain always feels so differantly. Linda was very active at Countryfolk Music Theater. She was Larry’s “Girl Friday” as well as a wonderful photogopher and friend to all. She will be missed there.
I am excited to have two new songs to sing there this year. I hope they like them. Never know if I don’t sing them.

This has been a very exciting Spring for me this year. I hope your Spring has been a good one also. Write to me and tell me about it. I would love to hear from you all. (yes, I recently returned from the southern states ya’all.)
I was in Amory Mississippi, Water Valley Tenn. and Jacksone Tenn. as well as Water Town Tenn. A movie about Billy Grahams life is being made and some of it is filmed in Water Town.
I took CD’s with me and did very well at selling them. I would have sold more if I had them with me. That was exciting.
Yeaterday I started writing a new song. I like it so far. Catchy little tune and real life. At least for those who fail at love from time to time.
Next weekend Country Folk Music Theater opens up. I would love to go there to sing and see my friends but I have a very crazy home life planned. Doctor appointment for sister and re-newing marriage vows for my nephew. How touching that is .
I have been very busy here. Working out side in my flower beds and raking and all of that jazz. My son and nephew jacked my porch up today. It was going down hill….literally…(smile). Soon I am having work done on my home and that is great to have that all done I say.
I am looking into haveing more cd’s made up. I think I will do a country cd and a gospel one as well. To start out I will just have a few. What would you like to have me put out there for my second CD? Let me know. Soon my web page willl have samples of my songs on it. I think that will help alot.
Well, that is all for tonight. I am very exhausted. It has been a very long day.
Good night all.

I just got word from Larry Bisbee that his roofs of his stages collapsed under the strain of all the snow.I did not see them but I would not be surprised if there were 8 feet of snow on them. This Theater is in East Dixfield Maine where winters can be harsh. This winter has been an old fashioned winter. He winter’s in Arizona and was unable to tend them. So sad. Also the “Bunk-House “roof caved in. His cabin and the Pen-Aw-Tha are fine and that is good news. He is not sure at this point whether or not he will open his home for jam sessions this year or not. I suppose if people want it opened they will donate time and money to get it up and running again. Larry is a humble man with a big heart. We must pray for the best. God knows the desire of his heart after all.
On another note….
I have not posted anything for awhile for my mind has been on my friend who had a brain aneurysm on the 20th of March. It was a miricle that she survivied it. The surgeon was in awe over the whole thing. She is doing so well that she might come home on the 2nd of April. We are all excited about that.
On the 7th of April the two women I sing with and myself are heading out for Amory Mississippi to join the hobos at a gathering. We are looking forward to seeing everyone.
We are leaving early for we have been asked to sing in a benifit concert for one of our dear hobo historian friends (Loco Larry) who is fighting cancer. His wife “Miss Cahrolette” was Queen of he Hobos last year. In case I have not mentioned it, I am Queen this year.
I have been playing with a few new melody’s on my guitar and piano but words have not come to them. Music is my therepy but words come later I suppose.
Well, I guess this is all for today. Please leave a comment so I know you were here.

Happy Easter everyone. A day of celebration! He is indeed alive and well.
Things have been enveloped with one miracle after another since Thursday. One of my dearest friends was struck with a brain aneurysm. Was a very critical state to be in. We had Hope but still all we could do was wait and watch. A very trying time on the family and for those of us who love her. Today is Sunday and yesterday they moved her out of I.C.U. This does not normally happen. So much has happened this month that has strengthen my Trust in my Lord, my God. When there is not where to run….run to Him.
This is a life experiance that does put a song in ones heart! Only one who is a live can touch the dying………He is ALIVE!!!!!
He hears the prayers of His children.

It has been a while since I last placed an entry. The cold has left me and the I am also back in the real world. I even went out sliding Saturday with my sister and her great grand-daughter. It has been years since I have gone sliding down a steep hill. I had a very difficult time staying on the trail. That plastic sled had a mind of it’s own! It was only about 30 degrees (or a bit less) but we worked up a sweat climbing back up the hill. The two year old did very well. After about the fourth time climbing the hill however, she decided she wanted to ride up in the sled. Easy for her …harder for us. It was fun just the same. I have no grandchildren of my own so I guess I will just have to enjoy other peoples children. I love children, so that is not hard for me to do.
This same little child loves to hear me sing and play the guitar. She will start dancing and singing and has even tried to yodel. So cute. When the song is finished she will clap her hands and say Yeaaaaa……. She is all smiles. She is my “biggest little fan” my sister calls her. She does not re-act to other music as she does to me. Not yet anyway. I am sure she will after a while.
I have a new tune I am working on with my guitar. No words yet, just the melody. I also have a tune I am working on , on my piano. I also made a down payment on a banjo that I am excited about. I do not read music so things are a challenge for me but I do not mind. I always figure out ’something ‘ to play.
In a little while I will tell about the movie……lots of good music!

I see Fran has put my web site onto his links in his web site at Fran’s
Hobo Page and the address is; http://www.worldpath.net/~minstrel
Thank you Fran. Because of space he simply put Hobo Queen Lady SonShine.
Yes, I am Queen of the Hobo’s for 2007—2008. August thru to following August.
This is a title I proudly wear. I plan on a blog about that as well. I am uncertain of when though.

As I sit here with the sniffles, and coughing on occasion, I find myself wanting to pick up my guitar and singing loudly. Why is it we always want a drink of water when the well is dry? I can talk today after 3 days of not being able to, but can I sing? HHmmm….I would attempt it but I know I would just start coughing more. I have coughed so deep my ribs hurt. I won’t be yodeling for a while I know. I had just better take care of my vocals and not abuse them at this time. Hee Hee…you got me. My yodeling is not professional yet. And it is just a simple single yodel I guess. I have not learned double or triple.I never have taken lessons for anything I do musically. I would say it is right up there with my spelling ability. Good thing this has spell check and I remember to use it from time to time. The important thing is the love that I have for music and singing and playing instruments. I am not sure yet how I feel about singing on a stage with people looking at me and listening. Sometimes I feel confident and other times not at all. I think it depends on who I am singing to or for.
You know the audience plays a big part on a performers performance. (grin) I tell you this tho….There is very much a feeling of living when up on a stage. A feeling of vulnerability, excitement, many butterflies tickling the belly….. HOWEVER…. I get around all these mixed feelings by giving it all to my Lord. Not saying all I sing is gospel. No it isn’t. But I know He wants us to enjoy life and He expects us to have a varied selection. To bring Him honor. I do not sing trashy songs. They are not part of who I am. I do not sing many of my songs with Serenity, for they are not serene, but some are thought provoking. Then I have others that are just snappy and or fun. As I have written , Serenity is a trio which I am part of. We have been together since 1998. We are three ladies the Lord put together to sing to magnify Him but we are also three individual personalities. That being said, we each have our own style of music and singing that we should each have the privilege to tweak if that be our desire, but when we come together as Serenity then the Lord takes our differences and works them all out for his Glory. If for example, should you hear my almost country music style and then hear Serenity, you would most definitely hear a big difference. Another example is this. I am looking forward to having a banjo. It will not be for Serenity, but rather just me. I have a bowed psaltery that some day might fit in with Serenity but it will not be for my almost country style. Not that I can see anyway.
Well, this cold has really got me today.I think I shall finish my juice and crawl back under the covers of my warm bed and try to sleep the day away. If I can not sleep I will either read a book OR write one! Keep warm and stay healthy!!!! oh yes…If you are to warm where you live…keep cool and stay healthy!!!

Well, it has been a few days since I have posted anything. I have been under the weather so to speak. I could barly talk and yet last night I sang with the girls I sing with at a benifit supper. There were many singers there. Full bands such as Fishers of Men to Solo Acts such as Ginger Mae. I am part of Serenity. Because of my condition this past few days we could only sing a few selected songs that were low and soft and slow. It went well tho.
This web site is slow in the making and I apologise for that. The one who is building it has been very busy and seems because he is doing this at no charge it is at the bottom of the list. Everything good is worth the wait so I am believing this will be a pretty good web site. (smile) If you are reading this could you write a comment to me so I know that someone is readng ? Thank you.
